The world of dentistry is absolutely nothing like it once was!
Whilst out unlucky ancestors might have had to go through some terrible times in order to prevent or stop oral pain, all we need to do these days is make a simple, safe trip to the dentist for everything to be sorted out in no time at all!
Here at Smile Street, one of the most common procedures that we undertake for patients of various ages is the installation of dental implants.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that such implants are only for the elderly, we’re not talking about the old fashioned sets of false teeth in glasses of water by the bedside!
Just so you know, here are some of the most common reasons why a person might need dental implants.
- When you have a clear case of a missing tooth, whether through decay or an injury that caused it to be knocked out, a dental implant is a simple solution to fixing a broken smile. They can be colour matched to the rest of your mouth so that it looks like you never had a problem in the first place!
- If you develop a cavity that goes so deep into the tooth that most of it needs to be removed in order to get rid of the decay, then having an implant put in its place is always a good alternative.
- In some cases, there won’t be enough tooth left at the end of the decay removal in order to undertake a filling procedure, so a dental implant will be the only feasible option other than complete tooth removal and a gap in the mouth being left.
- It is important to remember that if you have a missing tooth that does not bother you in your everyday life, perhaps a back molar for example, then you don’t necessarily need to have a dental implant fitted if you don’t want one. They are much more of a common option for teeth that are visible to others.
So, if you feel that dental implants might be part of your future, or you simply need a thorough check up at a top quality dentist surgery, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!
A member of the team will always be on and to book you in for a speedy and stress free appointment.
